Redwood · Café tables

Thick redwood tops, built for a coffee shop.

Small tables for two, built for the former Contraband Coffee in San Francisco. Each top is a very thick, nearly square slab of redwood with live edges on two sides, set on a thin black steel frame with angle-iron legs.

The build

Two live edges, two square ends.

Two opposite sides of each top keep the tree's live edge, wrapped in pale sapwood, with branch knots cut through near the corners. The other two sides are cut square to show the end grain. Each top sits on a thin black steel frame, with an angle-iron leg dropping straight down at each corner.

We built the tables for the shop that was Contraband Coffee in San Francisco. This is the real install.
